Cross-flow Membrane Equipment and Consumable Sales to Exceed $11 Billion Next Year

Sales of cross-flow membrane equipment and replaceable elements will reach $11.2 billion in 2017.  This is the latest forecast in RO, UF, MF World Markets.

East Asia will be the leading region with purchases of over $3.5 billion. NAFTA will be a distant second in the rankings.

The market is segmented by membrane efficiency and then further segmented by sales of equipment as opposed to the replaceable elements.

RO equipment will generate the largest sales followed by ultrafiltration equipment which also includes nanofiltration. RO membrane sales will approach $1.2 billion.

Desalination represents more than 30 percent of the market. In second place is municipal drinking water.  This has been a growing market as ultrafiltration and microfiltration have replaced sand filtration.
