$7 Billion Indoor Air Filtration Market Slated to Grow 4 Percent in 2014

Sales of filters to purify indoor air are forecasted to grow by 4 percent to just over $7 billion in 2014. That is the latest forecast in Air Filtration and Purification World Markets published by the McIlvaine Company. (www.mcilvainecompany.com) The $6.7 billion 2013 market includes the medium efficiency (M5-6, F7-9) filters. These filters will account for half the market. The low efficiency G1-4 segment is losing market share to the medium efficiency segment.

The high efficiency (H10-17) market is being boosted by the increasing use of these filters for gas turbine intakes. Hence not only is the intake market growing rapidly, but the percentage of the market utilizing high efficiency filters is also growing.
